Work · The log book

Every voyage gets logged.

Real, launched work — recorded the way a harbormaster would: the rough water we found, what we built, and where the vessel is now. Breakwater is early on purpose; the standard is the same for the first entry and the fiftieth.

Law Offices of D. Todd Diederich.

A 25-year Mid-Michigan law practice rebuilt from scratch — every page — off an 18-year-old frameset site and onto a fast, modern one that finally shows up in local search.

The practice had been serving Clare County and Mid-Michigan for over 25 years, but its website was nearly two decades old — a frameset wrapper pointing at an ancient sitebuilder page. On a phone it was close to unusable, and to Google it was close to invisible. None of the reputation the attorney had earned in that county was anywhere online: nine Readers' Choice "Best of the Best" wins, decades of service history, and years of community work were all missing from the one place people check first. The firm also no longer held the keys to the accounts its own domains were sitting on — the position no business should ever be in, and the reason we start every engagement by putting ownership in the client's name.

  • A complete rebuild on a modern static stack — fast, mobile-first, and readable on a phone without pinching or sideways scrolling
  • Fourteen practice areas organized into a scannable index instead of buried inside a frameset
  • Local search foundations for the five counties he serves — canonical tags, LegalService structured data, a clean sitemap, and Search Console verified
  • A persistent tap-to-call bar, because on a phone the one thing a worried caller wants is the number
  • A Recognition page surfacing nine Clare County Review Readers' Choice awards that had never appeared online
  • Decades of archival material — service history, certificates, community involvement — recovered from the old site and given a real home
  • Launched live on the domain he wanted to keep, with the new site and its accounts in the firm's own name
  • An older second domain is still tied up in recovery and may not come back — we built so that nothing on the new site depends on it

Puptown Treats — website screenshotVISIT puptowntreats.com ↗

Puptown Treats.

A first-ever website for a handmade dog-treat maker — SEO-friendly, and built so she can post her own market stops and products without touching code.

Puptown Treats was thriving on the ground — markets, custom orders, and a 9,600-follower Instagram — but had no website at all. The whole business lived on social feeds, so customers couldn't easily find where she'd be selling next, browse what she makes, or discover her through a plain Google search. She needed a real home online, and one she could keep current herself.

  • Her first real website — a home base of her own instead of a social-media-only presence
  • SEO built in from the ground up, so nearby customers can find her on Google, not just Instagram
  • A simple CMS to post her own market stops and events — the "Catch us next at…" schedule updates itself, no developer needed
  • A product catalog that shows what she makes and where it's currently being sold
  • A playful, mobile-first brand identity that matches her small-batch, human-grade personality
  • Custom-order and social follow paths wired in, and everything owned by her from day one

Throw It Back Dirty Soda — website screenshotVISIT throwitbackdirtysoda.com ↗

Throw It Back Dirty Soda.

A brand-new, fully SEO-optimized website for a Dirty Soda venture spun off from an established West Michigan mobile bar.

The owner had a thriving mobile bar brand, Throw It Back Mobile Bar, and wanted to launch a separate Dirty Soda business. It needed its own home online, its own search presence, and an identity that could stand on its own instead of living in the shadow of the parent brand.

  • A fully custom, mobile-first website for the new Dirty Soda brand
  • SEO built in from day one — clean structure, metadata, and local search foundations
  • A distinct brand identity that stands alone while nodding to Throw It Back
  • A foundation the owner controls and can grow from, with nothing locked away
